Strong HUD Code Production Growth in August 2018

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Washington, D.C., October 3, 2018 – The Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) reports that according to official statistics compiled on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), strong year-over-year manufactured housing industry production growth continued in August 2018. Just-released statistics indicate that HUD Code manufacturers produced 9,157 homes in August 2018, an 8.6% increase over the 8,434 HUD Code homes produced during August 2017. Cumulative industry production for 2018 now totals 66,688 homes, a 9.6% increase over the 60,839 HUD Code homes produced over the same period in 2017.

A further analysis of the official industry statistics shows that the top ten shipment states from the beginning of the industry production rebound in August 2011 through August 2018 — with cumulative, monthly, current year (2018) and prior year (2017) shipments per category as indicated — are:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row vc_table_theme=”classic” allow_html=””][vc_column][vc_table vc_table_theme=”classic”][align-center]State,Cumulative,[align-center]Current%20Month%20(Aug.%202018),[align-center]2018,[align-center]2017|[align-center]Texas,80%2C919%20homes,[align-center]1%2C703,[align-center]13%2C044,[align-center]10%2C337|[align-center]Louisiana,31%2C022%20homes,[align-center]487,[align-center]3%2C435,[align-center]3%2C970|[align-center]Florida,26%2C112%20%20homes,[align-center]683,[align-center]4%2C764,[align-center]3%2C977|[align-center]Alabama,19%2C243%20%20homes,[align-center]374,[align-center]3%2C552,[align-center]3%2C899|[align-center]N.C,18%2C002%20%20homes,[align-center]391,[align-center]3%2C101,[align-center]2%2C651|[align-center]Mississippi,16%2C340%20homes,[align-center]318,[align-center]2%2C571,[align-center]2%2C421|[align-center]California,15%2C892%20%20homes,[align-center]381,[align-center]2%2C677,[align-center]2%2C428|[align-center]Kentucky,14%2C642%20%20homes,[align-center]287,[align-center]1%2C943,[align-center]2%2C157|[align-center]Michigan,14%2C761%20%20homes,[align-center]468,[align-center]2%2C744,[align-center]3%2C301|[align-center]Tennessee,12%2C581%20%20homes,[align-center]259,[align-center]1%2C979,[align-center]1%2C724[/vc_table][vc_column_text]The latest information for August 2018, moves Michigan ahead of Kentucky in the cumulative top ten list.

Please note: There was a minor error in the September 10, 2018 MHARR Production Report.  Cumulative production for 2017 through the end of July 2017, should have been stated as 52,405 instead of 52,305, and the cumulative production increase percentage should therefore have been 9.8% instead of 10.0%.  Please correct your records accordingly.
